Xinobi – 1975 Remixes Pt. 1

Xinobi’s first album ‘1975’ now sees the beginning of a 3 pack remix saga. Out now on Discotexas.

This first one features an epic dark re-arrangement of the additive “Real Fake” by Xinobi himself. Gomma records boss Munk brings out some ultra cool jazzy elements to the funk assault of “Crime”. UK duo Psychemagik gave “Bogota” a really spooky techno edge that can literally blast away the strongest dance floors and finally we have Cut Slack that takes “Real Fake” to another pop dimension, reminiscent of Chromeo.”

Psychemagik – Mink & Shoes feat. Navid Izadi EP

UK up-and-coming tastemaker duo and vibrant producers known as PSYCHEMAGIK have just released their single “Mink & Shoes” featuring Navid Izadi (Soul Clap/Pillow Talk), along with several versions set to further perpetuate the song, which has already garnered the attention of many via Smirnoff’s “Filter the Unnecessary” TV campaign. Released on Danny McLewin and Tom Coveney’s own eponymous PSYCHEMAGIK label, “Mink & Shoes” is now available digitally (purchase here), and as a limited edition 12″ vinyl.

The 12” features the full-length vocal version; a dub, radio edit; and a haunting remix from Mexico City’s brightest new star Lokier.”Picture the weirdest, sketchiest dive bar you can imagine. A guttersnipe hole-in-the-wall hidden at the end of an unlit alley,” wrote tastemaker music source Ran$om Note. “Populate it with freaks, junkies, perverts, hustlers and at least one shambling ghoul. Ply this crowd of villains and losers with cheap shots of high strength gut-rot. Watch them dance. What are they dancing to? Our money is that it’d be this mix from Lokier.”

Combined with the official release of “Mink & Shoes,” PSYCHEMAGIK have also created a mix for Apple Music, which can be found here: “Apple kindly asked us to record a mix of just our own productions in support of our new single “Mink & Shoes.” It was great digging through the vaults and to be honest this mix could be 5 times as long but here’s some of our favourites from our Originals, Remixes, and Edits. Magik Method…Hope you enjoy!

The future for the musically dynamic pair is as vast and worthwhile as their genre-bending sound. Recent and upcoming releases set for 2015 include: ‘Magik Sunset Pt 2′, a remix of Noel Gallagher’s “The Right Stuff” (September 25), a remix of Little Boots’ “Get Things Done” (November 9), a remix of Paul Weller’s “Phoenix” (release date TBA), and yet another remix of Catz n Dogz’ “Nobody Cares” (also TBA). Further, the duo has in store one last surprise for “Mink & Shoes,” details of which will come at a later date.

PSYCHEMAGIK have developed a reputation as the go-to guys for mega rare records and samples that you can’t and won’t find anywhere else. Their satisfied customers include: 2 Many DJ’s/ Soulwax, The Chemical Brothers, Q-Tip and Fake Blood, among a number of other notable musicians. The duo has created a resonating sound, perfectly stated by Clash Magazine, that “PSYCHEMAGIK don’t remix other artists, so much as [they] profoundly deconstruct their reason to exist.”
