Greek duo Keep Shelly in Athens have just shared the official video for the title track of their new excellent album, Now I’m Ready, which features the musical talents of another Grecian downtempo duo, Ocean Hope.

The band teamed up with FACES (the directorial collaboration between Gareth Warland and Noelle Rodrigues) to create this dreamy music video. “We wanted to give the video a ’70s Ektachrome feel and took influence from the beautiful films and Polaroids of Tarkovsky and the photography of David Hamilton,” says Warland. “We have always been big fans of female vocalists and “Now I’m Ready” is a song sung by a woman about a woman, so it was a natural choice for us to develop a female protagonist,” notes Rodrigues. “We are very interested in strong female characters, so often we find ourselves building ideas around female leads.”

Now I’m Ready is out now on Friends of Friends. For KSiA tour dates go HERE.

Ocean Hope – By Your Side

Ocean Hope quietly emerged in the fall of 2014 with a pair of demos shrouded in a foggy, seductive mystery, as is frequently the result of a veiled online connection. The strength of these early demos paved the way for the act’s forthcoming debut release ‘Chamber Dreams.’

Ocean Hope’s music reveals a warm, romantic dream-pop sound strong enough to refresh ears in 2015 while carrying an aesthetic influenced by the avant-garde pioneers that dominated 4AD’s roster during the 1980’s. Beautiful ethereal vocals glide and blur over expressive guitars, lush analogue synths, and distant percussion, creating an ideal soundtrack for nostalgic daydreams, midnight adventures, and intimate encounters.

Recently unveiled as the project of a Greek brother-sister duo from a small seaside village near the city of Corinth, their introductory EP captures a whimsical, escapist aura. Inspired by their own isolated formative years spent lost in the imaginations of directors such as Federico Fellini and Hayao Miyazaki, as well as the visionary albums of Arthur Russell and The Cure, Ocean Hope confidently craft their own hypnotic, fantastical world on their debut release.

Ocean Hope also appear on Keep Shelly In Athens’ new single “Now I’m Ready,” the title track to the fellow Greek dream-pop outfit’s forthcoming album that’s due out October 16th 2015 via Friends of Friends.

Below you can stream the gorgeus debut single “By Your Side”. The group’s forthcoming debut release, Chamber Dreams is out November 13 via Seattle label Hush Hush. Watch the teaser below. Pre-order here. The cassette tape version of ‘Chamber Dreams’ will include the four EP cuts in addition to tape-exclusive bonus tracks + remixes.
