Nimmo – UnYoung (Paul Woolford Rework)
Following the announcement of their new single ‘UnYoung’ and the unveiling of the gritty, urban-set video, London-based five-piece Nimmo unveil a new remix from Paul Woolford aka Special Request, who turns it into “a piano house belter” (THUMP).
Produced by Boxed In (Oli Bayston), ‘UnYoung’ is a taut, nocturnal take on hedonistic dance, channelling Nimmo’s natural energy as a live-band into their most infectious work to date. Lyrically, the band describe ‘UnYoung’ as “a song about the fear of our parents or loved ones in general dying, and only being remembered in photographs on a mantelpiece. As the instrumentation progressed, ‘UnYoung’ became a celebration of your family and just being alive.”

London-based five-piece Nimmo today unveil a striking, starkly urban video for new single ‘UnYoung’, produced by Boxed In and out now via Columbia Records. It’s the perfect visual accompaniment to the track, a taut, nocturnal take on hedonistic dance which channels Nimmo’s natural energy as a live band into their most infectious work to date.
Lyrically, the band describe ‘UnYoung’ as “a song about the fear of our parents or loved ones in general dying, and only being remembered in photographs on a mantelpiece. As the instrumentation progressed, ‘UnYoung’ became a celebration of your family and just being alive.”
Nimmo – UnYoung (Lone Remix)
Following the announcement of their new single ‘UnYoung’, London-based five-piece Nimmo unveil a ravey piano house remix courtesy of R&S’s Lone, “who throws his signature twinkling keys and phased synths over chunky, rolling bass drums” in the words of FACT.
‘UnYoung’ is out now via Columbia Records. Lone & Paul Woolford remixes available from January 29th.
Nimmo are a unique electronic five-piece who can be traced back to the decade-long friendship of co-vocalists (and football-obsessives) Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett. Filtering the band’s shared childhood exposure to garage, jungle, drum n’ bass and ’80s pop (Tears for Fears, New Order), Nimmo have immersed themselves not only with the sounds of the club culture, but also located the moods of aggression, energy and heartache within that which would add depth to their songwriting. If their pristine sportswear and tomboyish tailoring wasn’t an additional clue, Nimmo are far from your typical breakout band.
Following an early, acclaimed EP via Kitsuné, Nimmo have since picked up support across Radio 1, 6Music, XFM and KCRW – also collaborating with the likes of Tim Goldsworthy (DFA) and their old school mate Maya Jane Coles. From two disobedient, North-West-London schoolgirls to a thick-as-thieves five-piece, Nimmo are now poised for a breakout year ahead.

Nimmo – Dilute This (Maya Jane Coles Remix)
Fresh from their sold out show at London’s Oslo venue, rising five-piece Nimmo have enlisted their old school friend Maya Jane Coles for a powerful, moody remix of their new single ‘Dilute This’ – out now on Columbia Records.
Fronted by harmonic co-vocalists (and best friends since childhood) Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett, this idiosyncratic and visually-striking young band describe ‘Dilute This’ as “a song about the fear of love becoming mundane, and no longer unique. We didn’t discuss the subject before writing it but we always tend to go through the same sort of thing mentally at the same time, and often find ourselves writing about similar things we’re paranoid about.”
The pent-up frustration of ‘Dilute This’ follows Nimmo’s debut, Kitsuné-released EP ‘Others’, and last year’s ‘Jaded’ single. Inspired by the dark electronica of New Order or the heartfelt pop of Everything But The Girl and Fleetwood Mac, this tightknit five-piece have since picked up plaudits spanning Radio 1, 6Music, XFM and KCRW.
