Released: 19 Oct 2018

Music For Dreams has recently released the debut album by Bonnie & Klein, entitled ‘Ithaca’ on Friday 8th December 2017.
The Copenhagen-based Music For Dreams label continues to be at the vanguard of the ambient revival as well as being at the forefront of the Balearic, chill, and space disco movement. MFD has generated an excellent string of releases in 2017 from some of the most eclectic and inspired artists. Artists making waves for the label include Jan Schulte, Ruf Dug, Be Svendsen, Copenema, Nordsø and Theill Apiento, Jose Manuel, The Swan & The Lake, Ambala, Oscar Bandersen, DJ Pippi, Leo Mas, Visti & Meyland, Mackrory & Collier, and label boss Kenneth Bager.
Greek producers Bonnie & Klein established themselves in 2015 with tracks such as ‘Beautiful City’ and ‘Total Blue’ on Music For Dreams, both well on the way to becoming new Balearic classics. Embracing and flaunting Mediterranean influences, the duo have created their own distinctive sound – soft electronic rhythms blend with horizontal textures to create a fragile balance of space for the listener’s mind while delivering beats for the beaches.
Tracks like ‘Ithaca’ and ‘Magnolia’ and others reveal a 90s influence of Cafe Del Mar, featuring slow percussion with cinematic strings on a relaxed beat receiving maximum support from the likes of Leo Mas, Moonboots, Jon Sa Trinxa, Kenneth Bager, and of course Balearic originator Jose Padilla. Percussively lilting ‘Coral’ and tango-inspired, xylophone & flute embellished ‘Aguavivas’ fully explore the Balearic beach and poolside soundtrack.
Born and raised in Greece, Bonnie & Klein are the aliases of George Fountzoulas and Thanasis Skouzis, two Balearica devotees who stick their musically beloved heads together to create soul moving music. They have also enjoyed releases on Seamless, Timewarp, Uber and Leng labels.
In the time-honoured tradition of Balearic producers, Bonnie & Klein confirm their authentic sound has been ‘inspired by the sea, forest, sunset, joy and pleasure’.

Every once in a while a record comes along defies any sort of conventional explanation and transcends today’s numbed-out consensus beats.
Cosmic Disco, Neo-Balearic, Retro-Italo-futurism – get creative as you wish trying to peg it, but one thing is for sure, Doctr’s ‘Tropique” is undoubtedly an excellently crafted tune; an immaculate exercise in retro house music and a true crowd-pleasing dance hit that’s just impossible to resist.
As if magically appearing from the untouched realms of electronic music, the soundtrack to some quirky, exotic floating party at the centre of the Bermuda Triangle, “Tropique” is a simple concept, a seemingly innocent loop which rolls along and sneakily picks up more effects with each rotation. The production is near faultless, perfectly structured and fine-tuned to draw the maximum drama out of its infectious bass and tasty keyboard hook. Even more impressive, it manages to do so without ever feeling cheesy or overdone; straddling the fine line between being both modern and retro at the same time.
Its creator? Well little is documented about the producer who simply goes by the name of Doctr – but it’s clear that he operates to the beat of his own drum and knows how to rock a party with rollicking flair judging by the dubby but joyous vibes he brings to this fleet-footed offering. ‘Tropique’ sounds like its gestation was characterised by years of crate-digging and wild, balmy nights that stretched on for eternity, given its eclecticism and woozily high spirits.
Having played only a handful of acclaimed shows thus far, it appears Doctr is that rare find; a crowd-pleasing DJ whose musical skills trump his proven ability to move butts.
‘Tropique” is the tune this summer’s been craving and will no doubt be virtually inescapable throughout 2016 and the years to come.
This is the first release from Borneland. A long waited single after the brothers in spring 2014 made a huge dance floor success with their interpretation of the Destiny’s Childs all-time classic ‘Bug A Boo’ – A remix that was mentioned by big medias such as MTV and the american Billboard. Having shown their value, repeated by several success bootleg, they are now ready to stand on their own with the debut single ‘Eyes’.
The single ‘Eyes’ is accompanied by the classic Rhodes piano, Prophet 08 synth and the SH-101 characteristic sub bass – a foundation of a track which represent the differences in the two brothers individual strengths that together give you the perfect combination. Followed by acoustic violin by Andreas Birk and soulful vocals by Line Gøttsche, this is a track that shows the simplicity in life and the perdition of love for other person you just can not get out of your head.
The release will take place at the well-respected record label Music For Dreams, with the legendary frontman Kenneth Bager behind the control room. The single ‘Eyes’ will be available on all digital platforms and for the lucky one in a limited edition vinyl in a few carefully selected record stores.
