Lianne La Havas – Lost and Found (Matthew Herbert Remix)

DJ Koze and Marcus Fink’s Pampa Records have shared another brand new track from their upcoming “Various Artists – Pampa Vol. 1” compilation.

Matthew Herbert’s masterful new remix of Lianne La Havas’ track takes the raw pain of the original and adds a crackly house beat and rhythmic bassline – giving the song a joyous club-ready spin.

The compilation also features new tracks from longtime label artists such as Axel Boman and Isolée, and newcomers including Jamie xx, Gold Panda and Mount Kimbie.

Matthew: “I loved the original track and one day I was in a hotel room in Italy and took an mp3 of the finished track and tried to chop it in to shape before a gig. I don’t normally do this kind of thing, so feel a bit awkward about the whole affair.”

“Various Artists – Pampa Vol. 1” album released 29th April 2016 on Pampa Records.

Lianne La Havas – Unstoppable (Jungle’s Edit)

Lianne La Havas made a huge breakthrough with her Top 5 debut album ‘Is Your Love Big Enough?’ which sold 200,000 copies and won Album of the Year at iTunes as well as Barclaycard Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Best Album nominations. Now the 25-year-old London-based singer-songwriter will release her eagerly anticipated new album ‘Blood’ on July 31st on Warner Bros. Records.

‘Blood’ is an album that was inspired by Lianne’s family heritage, which is part Jamaican and part Greek. Once touring for her debut album came to a close, she headed to Jamaica with her mother for a holiday which evolved into an experience of self-discovery. Lianne enjoyed emotional reunions with long-lost relatives; embraced Kingston’s clubs; and even jammed in front of her family for the first time during a session with legendary dancehall / reggae producer Stephen McGregor.

Discovering her heritage inspired Lianne to reflect on the connections between now and then, which in turn sparked the songs which would become her future. Simply, “everything seemed to have a lot more clarity, and I really wanted to speak about it.”

Lyrically, the songs that feature on the album are almost all related to “the feeling of who you are and where you come from.” Sonically, ‘Blood’ is a collection that shakes, shimmies and swings with Jamaican grooves with Lianne taking inspiration from the nation’s love of grooves, rhythms and syncopation.

In addition to Stephen McGregor, ‘Blood’ features a rich collection of collaborators. Produced and co-written by Adele / FKA twigs collaborator Paul Epworth, and founded upon an instrumental recording by Ninja Tunes trio The Invisible, the first single ‘Unstoppable’ is a song that Lianne wrote to help to repair a relationship that she had ended.

Set to impact on June 1st, ‘Unstoppable’ will also be available from the evening of April 21st as an instant grat track for those who pre-order the album.

Following his work on Lianne’s debut album, Aqualung’s Matt Hales returns, most notably on ‘Wonderful’ which he and Lianne co-wrote with Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence. Another highlight comes with the autobiographical album centrepiece ‘Green and Gold’ which was co-produced and co-written by Jamie Lidell, while Alicia Keys and India.Arie producer Mark Batson also lent his talents to the album.

In addition to the regular CD, digital and vinyl releases, ‘Blood’ will also be issued on three special formats: a Mastered for iTunes digital edition; a limited first run CD Softpak; a signed 12” vinyl which will be available exclusively through Lianne’s official website; and a signed CD which will be available from Amazon.

Tourist feat. Lianne La Havas – Patterns (Redlight Remix)

tourist-1024x682

Here’s Redlight remix of Tourist‘s recent EP title track ‘Pattern‘s feat. Lianne La Havas. The Redlight remix keeps Lianne’s vocal intact from the original, giving it room to whisper out at the end of the chorus as he works in a new bassline.

Patterns EP came out a few weeks back and has been getting a great reaction. The EP is also Tourist’s first foray into working with vocalists (other than his own vocals on previous releases) and starting out with a feature from Lianne La Havas has understandably thrust him very much into the role of a producer with anticipation of what’s to come.
