Back in January 2005, American dance-punk act LCD Soundsystem released their debut same titled album on DFA Records, which featured their great single “Daft Punk Is Playing At My House”. The accompanying music video paid tongue-in-cheek homage to Spike Jonze‘s and Michel Gondry‘s music videos for Daft Punk’s “Da Funk” and “Around the World,” respectively.
Here is LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy epic 10-minute-plus hypnotic remix of David Bowie‘s “Love Is Lost”. “Hello Steve Reich Mix by James Murphy” contains elements of Bowie’s classic “Ashes To Ashes” and is taken from “The Next Day Extra”, the extended, three-disc version of Bowie’s 2013 comeback album “The Next Day”, due on November 4 via Columbia.
Here’s video for Arcade Fire‘s catchy disco-infused track “Reflektor”, the first single from their forthcoming album of the same name, which was produced by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and features David Bowie in the backing vocals. Directed by Anton Corbijn. Arcade Fire’s new album “Reflektor” arrives on October 29 via Merge. In case you missed it, check out the amazing interactive video for “Reflektor”, directed by Vincent Morisset, here, filmed in Jacmel, Haiti.
Pat Mahoney (founding member and drummer of LCD Soundsystem) and Dennis McNany (a.k.a. Jee Day, member of The Juan Maclean and founder of Run-Roc Records) have come together to form Museum Of Love. Pat and Dennis met 14 years ago, but that doesn’t matter. Born of friendship, 10,000 tallboys, 400 bistro burgers and 10 million cigarettes – here is the Museum of Love. Their debut single ‘Down South’ will be released on DFA Records on June 11. Listen to it below. Purchase high quality MP3s and .WAVs at DFA Direct. Dennis writes most of the music, and Pat sings most of the words. Their debut album will be released later this year.
