Once again playing on the fringes of pop, Danish experimental trio, WhoMadeWho (Embassy of Music), have made an explosive comeback with “I Don’t Know”. Taragana Pyjarama – Ariel Remixes EP
Danish wunderkind Taragana Pyjarama aka Nick Kold Ericksen follows his stunning Ariel EP from earlier this year with an impressive collection of remixes, out now via True Panther Sounds.
While Ariel was a suite of 5am trance breakdowns, capturing those moments when the sun is almost coming up, the remixes keep things firmly in the nighttime. Hivern Discs’ Round adds soft synth stabs and a subtle 4×4 beat to the icy beauty of ‘Ber’, while the elusive Portuguese producer IVVVO (Terrain Ahead / Opal Tapes) loops undulating strings and indiscernible vocals to near ecstasy.
Olde Gods aka Guillamino (Bankrobber, Third Ear, ICAN & RBMA) and JMII (100% Silk, Hivern Discs and former Aster member) offer up their version of stand-out EP title track ‘Ariel’, adding their own vocal to the proceedings for a rolling house number, and Barcelona resident Sau Poler (Atomnation) reimagines ‘Givers’, adding percussive flourishes to brooding synth swirls. The package is completed with Danish duo Kenton Slash Demon’s moody, brutalist take on EP closer ‘Together’.
