Response to ‘Through The Yard’, the first single from Kauf’s debut album ‘ReGrowth’ has been excellent, with features on BBC 6 Music, KCRW, Insomniac, Acid Stag, LA Buzzbands and many more. Friday, 29th April, see’s the release of the Fort Romeau remix of ‘Through The Yard’ via Permanent Vacation, available on 12” vinyl and all good online retailers:
Fort Romeau has been making waves for a while with his “discotheque music from London” with releases on Ghostly / Spectral, Live At Robert Johnson & 100% Silk … he gives the track a dancefloor rework that stays true to the original but leads it further into the realm of the late night / early morning revelry…
With his original productions Kauf has achieved that nearly impossible feat of making dance music that is also song led and lyrically deep. There just aren’t that many records that work in the club and also explore the emotional conflicts and internal struggles that life poses.
His debut album ‘ReGrowth’ is out in August, but before that he’ll be releasing a few more tracks alongside equally staggering remixes from some of the electronic worlds greatest underground talents. Look out for ‘A Ruin’ coming soon with remixes from Man Power and Blue Hawaii….
British band The Big Pink commence their North American tour this week and to coincide have released “Empire Underground” The Remixes, which features remixes by Elliphant, Aquilo, Kauf and Jamie Hince(The Kills).

With his original productions Kauf has achieved that nearly impossible feat of making dance music that is also song led and lyrically deep. There just aren’t that many records that work in the club and also explores the emotional conflicts and internal struggles that life poses. Having previously remixed Poliça, Public Service Broadcasting and more, his remixes draw from a similar vein. Often identifying with a specific mood of the original piece and then distilling that down intoits essence. Mesmerising and meditative. Thistake on Beautiful Criminal is a prime example of this talent. With his debut album ‘ReGrowth’ out in August, response to the first single ‘Through The Yard’ has been excellent. Kauf shares brand new track “Through The Yard” today which premiered on-air with KCRW on Morning Becomes Eclectic with Jason Bentley. KCRW DJ Eric J. Lawrence wrote about the track for the KCRW blog:
“Kauf makes his full-length debut later this year with a record to be called Regrowth. Our first taste from it is the album’s closing cut, “Through the Yard,” which once again displays Kauf’s personal touch, with an affecting vocal set to an open-ended, worldbeat-flavored backdrop.”
You can download the track now via BandCamp, it will be available as a name-your-price download for a full month. It will be availiable on Spotify, iTunes / Apple Music and other streaming services on March 11.
London electronic duo Labyrinth Ear have recently announced that their debut album ‘The Orchid Room‘ will be released on September 22nd 2014. They will also release a deluxe edition of the album in the UK on the same day with exclusive new tracks, including LA producer Kauf‘s euphoric remix of lead single ‘Lorna‘.
They have just revealed the beautifully shot new video for album highlight ‘Marble Eyes’, which teams mysteriously eerie, fairy-tale imagery with the band’s hazy blend of electronic pop. Check it out below.
