Kasper Bjørke – Klint Remixes

kasper bjorke.jpg

Kasper Bjørke is finising off another busy year, with a special treat in the form of Klint, a bouncy and dirty proto house jam that has been causing quite a stir on dancefloors all over, since the track was released as part of Kaspers Mini-LP Fountain of Youth this summer.

Now Klint is getting the single release it deserves, backed with some killer remixes from the Multi Culti crew and the Hivern Discs homeboy Marc Piñol. Piñol’s eclectic mix comes with crunchy drum machines and a throbbing, hypnotic groove – another piece of deep alchemy from the Hivern Discs regular. Thomas von Party from Multi Culti drops a stunning piece of voodoo, adding waves of his signature percussion and shamanic vibes – and The Multi Culti Mix slows down the pace, making the whole instrumentation extra trippy. As an extra goodie, MANOID, this rising new artist on the hfn disko imprint, delivers a personal and twisted take on the original version.

Releases December 2. Pre-order here.

Kasper Bjørke’s upcoming mini-LP Fountain of Youth, out June 10th via hfn music, bends genres such as classic house, electro, post disco and techno, into his own melting pot of late night jams – created entirely for the dance floors. It ́s Kasper’s joyous return to clubland, after focusing his previous album productions on song oriented compositions, suitable for home listening rather than the clubs.

Already sharing ‘Cloud 9’, an instrumental version with its dreamy analoge OB-8 pads and 808 breakbeats, Kasper Bjørke has now unveiled ‘Zenith’, a rickety synth-laden track with MIDI-heavy percussion, now streaming with hypnotic animation from Danish GIF artist Lotte Rose Kjaer Skau.

You can also now preview each track from the mini-LP here:

Fountain Of Youth arrives after Cloud 9 Remixes, which featured a vocal mix with Urdur from Icelandic band GusGus (also on Fountain Of Youth) plus reworks from Kompakt’s Weval as well as Italian duo Marvin & Guy, known for their jams on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs and most recently on Correspondant Records.

Kasper Bjørke – Cloud 9 EP

Here’s the first single out of Kasper Bjørke’s upcoming mini-LP ‘Fountain of Youth’ (out June 10th) which bends genres such as classic house, electro, post disco and techno, into his own melting pot of late night jams – created entirely for the dancefloors. It’s Kaspers joyous return to clubland, after focusing his previous album productions on song oriented compositions, suitable for home listening rather than the clubs.

Before that, ‘Cloud 9’, leading single from ‘Fountain of Youth’ is released on May 20th – and arriving with a remix package, as always handpicked by Kasper himself.

‘Cloud 9’ comes in two original versions: An instrumental version, that with its dreamy analoge OB-8 pads, haunting melancholic bell theme and 808 breakbeats surely will take you back in time. The vocal mix features Urdur from Icelandic band GusGus. Urdur delivers a infectious hookline, with a clear reference to the 90s vocal house scene.

Weval, soon to release their debut album on Kompakt, provides a stunning and brilliantly different take on the original, refocusing the vibe into a shuffling, lo-fi jam, complete with their signature sampled, pitched vocal bits. The Dub, available via Juno only, allows yet more space to the smudged, warm groove.

The Italian duo Marvin & Guy, known for their jams on John Talabots Hivern Discs and most recently on Correspondant Records, brings a beefy, chugging Italo vibe to their main version with a classic arpeggio synth anthem.

Marvin & Guy’s Dub Remix is pushing the simmering melodies into a dreamy climax – and is a sure shot for the open air sunset slots this summer.

S.R. Krebs – Grey Skies (Remixes) EP

March sees S.R. Krebs return to France’s Her Majesty’s Ship label with a slew of remixes taken from last year’s ‘Grey Skies’ EP, featuring Nadia Ksaiba, Kasper Bjørke, Rotciv and Kid Francescoli.

Born and raised in Mississipi, Sarah Rebecca Krebs moved to San Francisco at eighteen where her musical fixation blossomed whilst performing in various indie folk bands. 2008 saw the American relocate to Paris where she engrossed herself in the city’s thriving electronic music culture as part of the group Slove – a chapter that soon lead to her solo venture as S.R. Krebs, produced by Leo Hellden and Michael Giffts from the French cold wave band Tristesse Contemporaine.

Kick starting proceedings is Nadia Ksaiba, who recently released on Phantasy Sound and also hosts her fortnightly NTS show Rhythm Connection alongside Dan Beaumont. The British producer inaugurates the package with a remix of ‘For Losers’, an eccentric offering complete with sweeping atmospherics, luminous organs and Krebs’ melancholic vocals.

Formerly one half of legendary disco house duo Filur, Kasper Bjørke gives ‘Talking To Yourself’ a dub rework whilst incorporating retro synths and commanding snares to forge a deeply psychedelic affair.

Next up is Rotciv, who alongside Massimiliano Pagliara make up a pair named The Rimshooters that released on Her Majesty’s Ship back in 2012. His rendition of ‘Bigshot’ delivers an infectious walking bassline alongside distorted guitar and reformed vocals to inject a healthy dosage of funk.

Tying up the release is a remix of ‘Grey Skies’ from Marseille’s Kid Francescoli, the renowned French pop producer who is also a member of Husbands. Francescoli integrates a pulsing bass whilst transforming the original into a poignant and mellow down-tempo number that does well to enhance S.R. Krebs voice.

S.R. Krebs ‘Grey Skies (Remixes)’ is released on Her Majesty’s Ship on March 23rd 2015.

Tracklist:
1- For Losers (Nadia Ksaiba remix)
2- Talking To Yourself (Kasper Bjørke dub rework)
3- Bigshot (Rotciv disco mix)
4- Grey Skies (Kid Francescoli remix)
5- For Losers (Nadia Ksaiba dub mix)
