Henri (Henrietta Tiefenthaler) was born in London, but is now based in LA, where her versatility is beginning to attract serious attention; DJing, producing and singing on her own dance/pop productions.
Following on from the success of her ‘It’s like This, It’s Like That EP,’ Henri returns with an emotive remix of ‘Two Bodies (Feat. Emma Louise)’ by Australian duo, Flight Facilities.
The original, which features breathy vocals from Emma Louise, is the dance/pop production we have come to associate with Flight Facilities. Henri has pushed the boundaries of the track one step further; chopping up and looping snippets of Louise’s vocals, while adding lush strings and a gorgeous piano interlude to the mix.
Henri’s remix will be sure reignite your nostalgia for 90’s-inspired piano house beats. Perfect in both live and intimate settings, have a sweet euphoric moment and take yourself back to Bora Bora beach in Ibiza.
The remix is being released in anticipation of Henri’s second single, ‘Only Love Will Take Me There’; a brooding underground heroin house track, coming out on Monstertooth Records in November. It will include remixes and a b-side featuring an emotionally charged, gushing string arrangement by Dan Heath (Lana Del Rey). Out on September 15th via Win Music/Glassnote.
Having recently announced their highly anticipated sophomore album, Every Open Eye (out 9/25 on Glassnote) and massive North American tour, Scottish trio CHVRCHES are excited to share the video for their single “Leave A Trace,” directed by Warren & Nick (Bjork, Massive Attack, UNKLE).
CHVRCHES also recently shared a second track, “Never Ending Circles,” from the new album. The song is available for download now as an instant-grat for those pre-ordering the album.
The anticipation for the new album continues to build, with the band currently on the cover of Under The Radar and featured in New York Magazine’s Fall Fashion Issue, proclaiming that “Every Open Eye expands on the sound of Bones; it’s bolder and even catchier than its predecessor. Mayberry has become a more self-assured front woman, and Cook and Doherty have become better producers, confident enough to do more with less.”
Known for their mesmerizing live shows, CHVRCHES will be hitting the road in support of Every Open Eye this fall. Be sure to check in regularly at www.chvrch.es for all band and tour updates.
Vampire Weekend’s bassist Chris Baio has shared the official video for his new single “Sister Of Pearl”, taken from his upcoming debut solo album “The Names”. Baio said, “With ‘Sister of Pearl’ I wanted to write a Bowie & Ferry-referencing throwback pop song with a simple, straight-forward lyrical message: be who you want to be.”
Video directed by Daniel Navetta. “The Names” is out on September 18th via Glassnote. Pre-order it here.
Flight Facilities unveiled the video for their single “Down To Earth”, featuring choreography from legendary Vincent Paterson. “Down To Earth”, featuring vocals from Dennis Dowlut, aka Deutsch Duke, is a “tribute to artists like Mylo and Stardust”, taken from the pair’s great 2014 debut album of the same name, out now via Future Classic/Glassnote Records. Video directed by Rhett Wade-Ferrell. Starring Sam Rockwell.
Last week we posted Flight Facilities‘ new single “Stand Still”, featuring vocals from Parisian singer Micky Green, and now, you can watch the video for that track by director Dave Ma, who has also been responsible for the video of “Clair De Lune”. ‘Stand Still’ will be available with three incredible remixes, featuring Sydney’s Wave Racer, Future Classic alumni (and Lithuania’s Producer of the Year) Mario Basanov, and New York’s Com Truise, who brings his synth-heavy sounds to the table. Out on December 9 via Future Classic/Glassnote. Pre-order here.
Aeronautical DJs Flight Facilities are sending sonic waves out to the stratosphere once again with their new single ‘Stand Still’, due for release this November 22 on Future Classic & Glassnote Records.
“Inspired by 80s Hip Hop records & the foot stepping style of Midnight Oil, with an added touch of Drum & Bass” – an interesting blend of influences behind the track according to the guys behind Flight Facilities – eclectic maybe, but this is yet another nod to how far the duo’s musical tastes reach, and a reflection of their range as DJ’s and producers alike.
Much like previous releases, ‘Stand Still’ features an extended cast of ‘friends’ including the vocals of close friend Micky Green, the highly respected Sydney-born-Paris-based pop singer whose sweeping melodies add bubblegum sweetness to an otherwise high-tempo single. The final mix also comes courtesy of James David, one half of mysterious UK duo Snakehips. Old friends of Micky’s, Jimmy and Hugo have also chosen to work with another familiar face for the official music video in Director Dave Ma, the creative force behind the ARIA 2013 nominated clip for much lauded single ‘Clair De Lune‘.
‘Stand Still’ will be available with three incredible remixes, featuring Sydney’s Wave Racer, Future Classic alumni (and Lithuania’s Producer of the Year) Mario Basanov, and New York’s Com Truise, who brings his synth-heavy sounds to the table. ‘Stand Still’ digital remix package and vinyl package is set to be released on December 9.
