LEITVOX – Two Tribes feat. Emma Fox & Gavin Clark

Leitvox presents “Two Tribes”, the latest single from his acclaimed album Floating Promises fetauring the vocals of Emma Fox and (the late) Gavin Clark (UNKLE) and the great Ilian Rubin (Nine Inch Nails) on drumms.

With bass laden synths and and lots of cymbals, “Two Tribes” will transport you to another world where trip hop, chillout and electronica meet to create a magical world of sound. The vocals of Emma Fox swirl around creating beautiful melodies and are complemented by Gavin Clark’s melancholic tones.

The track stands out for it’s pristine sound, all elements composing the sound blending seamlessly to create an almost immersive experience for 4 minutes. Bright like the dawn and equally as beautiful, “Two Tribes” is a great example of Leitvox’s skill at pairing and melding different styles and voices.

Leitvox is a Mexican producer and composer that recently moved to Miami to open his own studio in Wynwood and start promoting his music in the U.S. His first EP, Fall From You, released in 2012, was acclaimed by the press in his country and served as a foundation for its successor Floating Promises, release this year in the US. The album features collaborations with Ilan Rubin (Nine Inch Nails), Gavin Clark and James Griffith (Unkle) Nina Miranda (Smoke City) and Ana Karla Escobar. In addition to the 9 tracks of the album, Floating Promises has 4 bonus tracks with remixes by Ladytron, GusGus, Son Lux and Nortec.

Gavin Clark And TOYDRUM – God Song (Frank Wiedemann Remix)

Toydrum aka Griffith and Clements met as members of UNKLE and have released two critically acclaimed albums – Distant Focus Vol. 1 and Evangelist – under the Toydrum moniker. The latter featured the late musical maverick Gavin Clark most notably on the soundtrack for Shane Meadow’s This Is England ’90.

Gavin Clark died in 2015 aged just 46 and it was his death that proved the catalyst for To Reinvision. “We wanted as many people as possible to hear Gavin’s songs,” says Pablo. “These new versions will introduce Gavin to a whole different audience. His legacy needs to be strong and we feel these versions will help with that.”

Pulling in the best loved moments from their debut ‘Distant Focus Vol. 1’ and ‘Evangelist’, ‘My Eye On You (To Reinvision) sees Frank Wiedemann of Âme give ‘God Song’ a glistening house pulse, Beyond The Wizard Sleeve’s Richard Norris reimagine ‘Know One Will Ever Know’ as choral electro plus the hazy, melancholic deconstruction of ‘I’ve Got A Future’ by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.

Toydrum not only found themselves influencing musicians but also a growing host of filmmakers. ‘I’ve Got A Future‘ inspired the short film ‘The Hope You Promised Was Love‘ directed by Jack Weatherley and starring Jim Sturgess (of ‘Cloud Atlas/Feed The Beast fame) and Stacy Martin (from Lars Von Trier’s ‘Nymphomaniac’).

Leitvox – A Whole Other Country (Reuben Wu – Ladytron Remix)

“A Whole Other Country” remixed by Reuben Wu, of the popular British band Ladytron, is a new approach to Leitvox‘s single released in the U.S. last month.

The remix of  “A Whole Other Country” gives the track a much more ominous and desolate tone, punctuated by a faster beat than the original. A combination of simple (even a little uplifting), 8-bit style synths in some parts of the track contrast with segments of dark, soaring melodies in the rest of the track.

The original track features the late British singer Gavin Clark (UNKLE) and it is a beautiful electronic ballad that serves as a message of hope for the young people willing to find new opportunities by leaving their country.
