Elliot Power – On The Windrush (UNKLE Reconstruction)
Offering another take on Elliott Power’s new track, ‘On The Windrush’ sees member of UNKLE and co-founder of Mo’Wax, James Lavelle step up to remix under the moniker of Unkle Reconstruction.
A song of two halves, On The Windrush begins with Power’s seductive spoken word monologue juxtaposed against the backdrop of production partner, Dorian Lutz’s staccato beats and brooding melodies.
Influenced by the idea of dystopia and of being propelled in to a dark fate with minor hints of optimism; ‘On The Windrush’ is accompanied by a video directed by Sam Pilling (The Weeknd, Drake, Two Door Cinema Club). Centring on a solitary half-man, half-alien creature that is left to wander a post-apocalyptic environment, the video elegantly mirrors Power’s darkly sentiment and mounting tension throughout the track.
‘On The Windrush’ is an assertive nod to the musical terrene set to be unveiled by Elliott Power, with his much anticipated debut album penned for early 2015.
