The Invisible have made Warp Record’s Darkstar’s remix of “So Well” available featuring their friend and collaborator Jessie Ware. “So Well” is taken from the upcoming album Patience. The group have worked with Sam Shepherd (Floating Points), Connan Mockasin, Anna Calvi, Rosie Lowe as well as Ware, the sense of collective excitement and pleasure in music-making is what holds sway. Patience is released 10th June on Ninja Tune.
British trio Darkstar follow up their News From Nowhere LP with a pair of remix EPs. The first 01484, featured remixes of album tracks ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘Armonica’, plus a remix by German producer Motor City Drum Ensemble and it’s out now on Warp. The second, HD7, is due out November 25 on Warp. The EP features Darkstar’s own dancefloor-oriented remixes of ‘Timeaway’ and ‘Hold Me Down’, with a remix of ‘You Don’t Need a Weartherman’ by the mysterious Kollaps (a.k.a. Zomby and his Cult Music project) on the B-side. Check out the amazing Kollaps remix below.
Here’s the video for Darkstar‘s A Day’s Pay For A Day’s Work, taken from the album ‘News From Nowhere’ out now on Warp Records. Filmed in a community center in South London, the video captures the trio taking part in numerous trust-building exercises and activities, ranging from falling backwards into the arms of others to taking part in a conga drum ensemble. Directed by London-based writer/director Lucy Luscombe. The band are also set to announce a series of remix EPs, that sees several News From Nowhere stand out tracks reworked by the likes of Zomby, Motor City Drum Ensemble, the band themselves and more.
