“Faraway” is the second single from Braille Face in 2017. It’s a warm and softly pulsating house track that sees him slip effortlessly into a soulful falsetto.
Following previous single “Run For Your Life” – which peaked at #5 on the Hype Machine chart and was championed by both BBC 6 Music’s Mary Anne Hobbs and triple j’s Richard Kingsmill – “Faraway” presents further evidence of Braille Face’s flexibility as a songwriter and a producer.
He wrote it when a friend dared him to write a house track – but what started as a throwaway joke quickly took on more weight when Jordan landed on a curious refrain – “I can’t get that far away without you.” It’s a lithe and slippery sentiment that gives the otherwise flippant track a conspicuous edge.
With Spotify streams recently tipping over 1 million, and recent performances at BIGSOUND showcasing his vibrant new live band – Braille Face is poised for a breakout year in 2018. With each new track, he reveals more tricks hiding up his sleeves – and there’s a lot more where this came from.
