Autograf – You Might Be feat. Lils
Chicago artists, production and multi-instrumentalist trio Autograf make their Big Beat Records debut today with their latest jam “You Might Be” featuring Lils. Known for her appearances on The Voice, Lils has worked with everyone from Twin Shadow to Dillon Francis, paving the way for her solo career. The artists come together for a seductively sweet earworm, with Lils hypnotic vocals that float effortlessly over their melodically chill bassline.
Combining two art students and a derivatives trader into an all-encompassing art project was surely a novel concept. Autograf — formed by Jake Carpenter, Louis Kha, and Mikul Wing — craft a shimmery mix of futuristic electronica with a D.I.Y. ethos that melds the skills from their former day jobs. As the electronic music scene reached a certain peak in 2015, the group wanted to bring some sexy back to the genre. After remixing songs by a string of prominent artists like Lorde and Pharrell, they released their first original song, “Dream,” followed by “Running” and “Metaphysical,” featuring Autograf-designed cover art. Autograf’s future philosophy and artistic talents led them to create their own instruments and stage installations, which they hoped would revolutionize the electronic music scene. In early 2016, the trio released their debut EP, ‘Future Soup,’ continuing the momentum in 2017 with their Hype Machine dominating single “Nobody Knows” and remix of “Rockabye” by Clean Bandit and Sean Paul.
Autograf continue to grow in various aspects of art culture, having just revealed their own streetwear line, By Autograf which combines their passion for a perfect intersection between art, fashion and music.
The trio will make their Coachella debut later this month. “You Might Be” is out now across all DSP’s.
Autograf – Nobody Knows feat. WYNNE
AUTOGRAF KICK OFF NEW SERIES OF ORIGINAL SONGS WITH ‘NOBODY KNOWS’ (FEAT. WYNNE)
Taking a bit of a departure from past releases and beginning a new chapter for their body of work, ‘Nobody Knows’ demonstrates a more serious and mysterious side to the group’s aesthetic. The Chicago band linked up with WYNNE, who has worked with a spectrum of other talented musicians from Thom Yorke to The Wanted to create a piece of work that stands out for its beautiful melancholy.
Well-known for tapping into emotional symphonies on previous hits like ‘Dream’, this meeting of minds has resulted in something very special on ‘Nobody Knows’. The band are set to debut the new single at their debut performance at this year’s Coachella.
As both their rendition of global smash hit ‘Rockabye’ by Clean Bandit and official remixes for a host of other headline acts are slated to drop over the coming weeks, Autograf have been personally invited by W Hotels to design an art installation for the hotel’s main window at the W Manhattan in New York City. This side to the project will come as no surprise to fans of the band, who designed and built their own lighting rig for their last US tour. The guys just revealed their own streetwear line as well. A By Autograf combines their passion for a perfect intersection between art, fashion and music.

Autograf – Future Sauce
Quickly following up the release of their Hype Machine #1 ‘Don’t Worry’ and official remix of Bastille’s ‘Good Grief’- Autograf has unveiled their newest project,‘Future Sauce’. A sneak peak of their still unannounced LP, the live electronic darlings have turned in one of their most hypnotizing pieces of music to date in ‘Future Sauce’. Powerful piano melody rips through the opening bars of ‘Future Sauce’, setting up a haunting, almost filmic aesthetic. The song disassembles into a groovy, unabashedly Autograf release, perfectly setting up a new doorway for what is to come from the band.
‘Future Sauce’ is available now as a peak into things to come, and debuts alongside an art print from Autograf as well. Stream it here via Autograf’s Soundcloud.
Autograf will be joining Goldroom for a co-headlining, 30+ date (found below), bus tour of North America this fall as well. Autograf burst onto the scene in 2015 with a string of searing remixes that notched up Hype Machine #1s left and right. 58 million plays later and the trio have shown they are very much more than just blog buzz. Singles like Dream and Metaphysical, released on Counter Records, and their subsequent 5 track 2016 EP Future Soup represent a body of work that shows Autograf’s penchant for melodic and kaleidoscopic hook laden house music.
Often when it comes to describing a musical aesthetic it stops with the music, but Autograf have constructed an identity that extends far beyond their soundscape. Originally conceived as an art project, the trio’s releases have been accompanied by original art pieces from the band, while Jake’s background in sculpture and welding has allowed Autograf to create their stage design and even build own instruments including a marimba and djembe.
Autograf – Don’t Worry
Autograf will partner with Goldroom for a major 30+ date live co-headline tour of North America including stops in New York’s Terminal 5, Los Angeles’ The Novo, San Francisco’s The Fox, among others. With both acts bringing live instrumentation on the road, as well as performing new original music, these shows will offer a glimpse at the future sound of American electronic music.
Autograf, who released their EP Future Soup earlier this year following the success of singles ‘Dream’ and ‘Metaphysical,’ are known for melodic and kaleidoscopic hook laden electronica, something which Goldroom admires greatly about the group: “Of all of the artists that I’ve gotten to play shows with over the last handful of years, Autograf has struck me as one of the most unwilling to conform to EDM stereotypes. I’ve always greatly respected Autograf for their desire to push boundaries, both in their productions and in their live playing.”
Autograf notes a similar sentiment towards Goldroom, adding, “It seems more and more dance acts are trying to go “live” these days, but Goldroom has been doing it long before everyone else. Josh is a true pioneer that’s been bridging the gap between live electronica and indie rock for many years. Seeing his completely live band is a true inspiration, and we couldn’t be more excited to go on tour with him.”
Today they celebrate the news by sharing new single, “Don’t Worry” for their fans!
Autograf – Metaphysical (Eau Claire Remix)
Autograf’s latest single “Metaphycial” has already seen several remixes over the last few weeks from artists including Daktyl, Kilter, Fehrplay, Exmag, and Vijay & Sofia. Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records welcomes the newest addition to the remix collection from Washington DC based producer and DJ Eau Claire who’s had quite an impressive year with releases on major labels including Warner Brothers Records and Elektra. With over 2 million streams on her Soundcloud page and several #1 charting remixes on Hype Machine, it’s almost expected now that she can transform any track into a masterpiece.
Eau Claire shares, “At first listen, the marimba melody really stood out to me so I worked it into what would be the bassline of my remix and created a new synth lead that would give the tune my own flavor but still be reminiscent of the original track which I think is really important when remixing. I like to keep most vocals intact in my work which I did here but additionally added pitched vocal cuts that balanced out the track.”
Available soon on iTunes & Spotify (Date TBA).
Fatboy Slim – Mad Flava (Autograf Remix)
Chicago based trio Autograf continue their hotly-tipped rise to electronic music stardom with a brand new remix of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Mad Flava’. Released on June 1st as part of a 15-year anniversary reissue of Slim’s platinum album ‘Halfway Between the Gutter and The Stars’, the trio’s work will run alongside remixes by The Chemical Brothers, Josh Butler and Dave Clarke to name a few. Jake, Louis and Mikul, together Autograf, demonstrate their fresh new take on Slim’s classic percussive style with a contemporized funk-driven remix that will surely enthral listeners around the world.
This track is the latest example of the high quality material delivered by the exciting production trio, and comes at the tip of a pioneering wave of astonishing remixes that continue to thrust the group into the limelight. Remixing a fifteen year-old classic is no mean feat, but the young producers have approached the task with the poise of seasoned veterans. The remix stays true to the energy and appeal of the original whilst at the same time creating something fresh for more contemporary audiences. Maintaining the signature vocals of the original, the group’s innovative approach sees them infusing the track with a groove-injecting bass solo at the midway point, compelling the listener into obligatory movement.
After the successes of their debut release ‘Dream’ and their official remix of Alesso’s ‘Cool,’ this exquisite restructuring of a timeless track will surely gain them even wider critical acclaim. The group’s rapid impact on electronic music is aptly explained by none other than Fatboy Slim himself: “Autograf got the finesse, they got the funk, they got the flava. The three F’s right there…”

Autograf – Dream
Chicago natives, Jake, Louis and Mikul, aka Autograf, have stormed the ramparts of electronic music with a relentless wave of incredible remixes over the past 12 months. Scoring countless Hype Machine no. 1’s and getting tipped by everyone from Billboard to Dancing Astronaut as one of “Top 25 Acts To Watch In 2015”, the time has finally come for the trio to emerge into the limelight with their first original production – ‘Dream’.
‘Dream’ is arguably their finest work thus far, as it truly showcases Autograf’s ability to create a track featuring a broad range of emotive musical elements. Swirling in with a smooth marimba intro, the glistening vocals lead the melody into jubilation while it gradually builds into the lively ‘Future House’ sound that we have grown to expect from Autograf. In lieu of a sultry bass line, the group’s creative genius shines with their layering of diverse percussions, mallet instrumentals and hypnotizing piano arrangement throughout.

Video: ODESZA – “All We Need feat. Shy Girls
ODESZA’s second single, “All We Need (feat. Shy Girls)” is an irresistible slice of 21st Century, blue-eyed soul. Produced by a duo whose feel for an infectious melody is matched by their firm footing in the world of bleeding-edge electronics, it’s the perfect follow up to 2014’s hit “Say My Name (feat. Zyra)”.
Now, they’re proud to share the dark, artful video for “All We Need (feat. Shy Girls)” from director Kevan Funk. Harrison Mills of ODESZA commented, “Kevan Funk and crew did a fantastic job producing a beautiful short for our track “All We Need”. We chose Kevan for his use of light, color and cinematic directing style. His use of dark imagery to convey the beauty as well as the tragedy of love and addiction in “All We Need” was a perfect contrast to the bright elements of the track while also playing upon the subtle melancholy undertones of the lyrics.”
Accompanying the video is a series of excellent remixes from Giraffage, Dawn Golden, Robert DeLong, Will Saul, Autograf and more. Autograf’s remix of “All We Need” went to #1 on the Hype Machine popular chart already, making that ODESZA’s 21st #1.
ODESZA – All We Need feat. Shy Girls (Autograf Remix)
Continuing their ‘Future Summer’ evolution, Autograf is back with their take on “All We Need”, a track off the ever-popular Odesza album In Return, available via Ninja Tune Records and available to download on February 16.
Released as part of an eight track SoundCloud remix EP package, the Chicago natives are adding another ear tingling product to their already impressive portfolio, which includes remixes of Pharrell, Christina Perri, and Lorde.
Giving rise to a variation of their typical formula by stripping the track from its original vocals and percussions, the trio adds rhythmically synced cuts and breaks and blend together Shy Girl’s vocals with the syncopated synths to produce an effervescent texture throughout. To top it off, the track is infused with their signature marimba sound to complete this buoyant and colorful groove.
Having been listed on Dancing Astronaut’s “top 25 artists to watch in 2015”, Autograf has been living up to the hype as they continue to make waves throughout the electronic music sphere with their genre-bending creations. This release comes midway through the group’s biggest tour to date, with multiple dates scheduled in the U.S., Mexico and Canada, including sold out gigs in Chicago and Washington DC. To give their fans a taste of the live ‘Autograf’ experience, which features a live marimba and hand built midi instruments, Louis, Jake and Mikul have released a special recap video shot on location from their sold out gig in The Windy City AKA their hometown Chicago.
With a slew of dates and original content due to be released in Spring 2015, Autograf is on course to have their biggest year to date, so be sure to #LeaveYourAutograf and follow them on their socials!
