Clark has unveiled his new track “Mirage Trooper” as the fourth installment of the Adult Swim Singles Program. It’s a tune full of reverberating sounds that transition into an epic ambient piece. The track follows last week’s release of D∆WN’s “Serpentine Fire” which Clark also produced. Clark’s “Mirage Trooper” is available for free download via AdultSwim.com/singles. Be sure to listen and share.
Adult Swim (AdultSwim.com), a division of Turner, launched in 2001, offering original and acquired animated and live-action series for young adults. Prefuse 73’s recent trilogy of releases (Forsyth Gardens, Rivington Não Rio, Every Color of Darkness) pays homage to his New York City neighborhood in Chinatown, so it’s fitting that Adult Swim producer Lilfuchs created a vibrantly dynamic animated video for “Still Pretending” that captures the energy of that bustling, sleepless neighborhood.
“The concept of a constant zoom with animation was an idea I had for a long time. I’ve always wanted to create something similar to a fractal image while also telling a story along the way. So, when Guillermo and I were introduced by Jeremy deVine (owner of Temporary Residence Ltd.), we talked about his triptych albums and how he was inspired by Roosevelt Park and his surrounding environment where he lives in Chinatown. Guillermo had the idea to make the Sara D. Roosevelt Park a main focal point to tell the story. This gave me a lot of freedom for ideas being that the park itself stretches 3 blocks and is filled with basketball courts, soccer fields, kids playgrounds and community gardens. Based on the zoom I had to work completely backwards and that was a great challenge but carefully blocking out the parks redundant facilities allowed me to be pretty creative. Thank god for Google street view!” – Lilfuchs
Prefuse 73 will hit Europe this fall, including several festival appearances. These will be the first performances following his recent triptych of releases from Temporary Residence Ltd.

Speaking about “Shadow” and Dear Tommy, Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel said, “Everyone has a shadow. There is no real difference between ten years ago and ten seconds ago. Your future determines your past. The flame of nostalgia is a tempting black hole to jump into, but I recognize it as a fantasy. Romance is brave. So is simplicity. Love is a call to war. Why wouldn’t you want to respect music? Dear Tommy is the most rebellious record I’ve made.”
This year’s Adult Swim’s Singles program consists of 19 weeks of new releases that continue into October and features forthcoming songs from Run The Jewels, Flying Lotus, DOOMSTARKS among others.

About Ghostly Swim 2:
Legend has it that Brian Eno’s concept of ambient music came to him while laid up in a hospital bed after an automobile accident in the ’70s. A friend brought him some records, playing them too low to be properly heard, and Eno couldn’t get out of bed to adjust the volume. While the record spun softly, Eno’s idea for music you could ignore as easily as you could give it your full attention, like a sort of sonic wallpaper, was born. It’s in that spirit of quiet isolation that Ghostly International, in association with Adult Swim, shares Ghostly Swim 2, our way of giving listeners a space to get away from the manic holiday bustle.
For those keeping track at home, Ghostly is wrapping up its 15th anniversary as an Ann Arbor/Brooklyn-based indie. 2014 has seen the company soundtracking video games (Playstation’s Hohokum), collaborating with awesome companies like Warby Parker and VOID watches, and clearing 300 releases of forward-thinking music with records from Tycho, Com Truise, and HTRK. What better way to end this banner year than to revisit one of our favorite partnerships from the past decade and a half?
Released in 2008, Ghostly Swim was praised for its adventurous survey of exploratory dance and pop music. Our curatorial focus has shifted this time around, moving further inward (spiritually) and outward (as far as our roster goes) to reflect the electronic underground in all of its hazy and vibrant experimentalism. Ghostly Swim 2 is a document of textured ambient zone-outs and woozy, granular house and techno that will help you find some downtime away from The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. So sit back, lower the volume, and enjoy our selections.
