Creating beautifully crafted, melodic and soulful electronic music since 2012, OLSEN gained a significant following after releasing his debut LP, Totoro, via Super Recordings (Randomer, Raffertie, Bondax, Honne) and also through his Manchester residency, playing alongside the likes of Floating Points, Levon Vincent and Jeremy Underground.
OLSEN is currently gearing up for 2017 with a set of new recordings on the horizon along with future edits and remixes in the pipeline.

Our take on the song by the Kings of Convenience. We love to take a great song and make it our own. With new chords and a newer, more electronic palette of sounds, we’re excited to finally put this one out into the world for you all to hear.
Here’s Ben Gomori’s Utopian Edit of DJ Shadow’s Midnight In A Perfect World. Premiered on his guest mix on John Digweed’s Transitions show this week and being given away as a free download via Data Transmission.
“Unofficial edit. I made this last month after having had the bones of it sitting there for about 15 months, finished it and then found out that by chance Shadow’s 20th anniversary re-issue of ‘Entroducing’ just happens to be out this month, so felt like good timing to finally get it out there. Hope you like it.“
Brisbane three-piece LEØ drop the first single ‘Us’ off their upcoming debut EP ‘Young’, exploring electronic sounds and looking inwardly on past relationships.
The band’s vocalist and guitarist Chloe Pilkington offers her saccharine vocals while the rest of the band anchor the track with steady, pulsating drum and synth loops. Pilkington’s vocals hang softly in a falsetto but her emotional vulnerability adds a pleasant depth. The track also heralds a new sound for the band, as they explore their original sound in an electronic space.
“Us gave LEØ a whole new music path to go down. It was our first real ‘electronic’ song, with the main focus on the drums. Josh had just made up a new drum/synth loop and left it on repeat so I could write to it, while him and Callum went out to buy food. 20 minutes later, they had sushi for me and I had lyrics for them.” – LEØ
‘Key To Life‘ is the third track released from Kauf’s forthcoming debut album ‘Regrowth’, which topped the HypeMachine charts on its week of release. Again it takes on difficult relationships and spins it into a whirling dervish of emotions and introspection that are encased in lush melodies and aural textures.
The Ambassadeurs (UK) widescreen and majestic take, draws on the original groove and propelsthe song gently onto the dancefloor. It seems almost a given that this song will be the soundtrack to many sunsets and sunrises.
Du Tonc return with with their final single of 2016 and what a double header they’ve delivered. It’s also the first time they’ve released a b-side to a single.
The lead track Wonderland drops on 28th November 2016, but before that we’ve got the 80’s disco tinged synth pop powerhouse, Keep Movin’. The track was previously penned to be a stand alone single, but with so much new music written, they decided to end the the year with a rather large bang.
Keep Movin’ is driven along with another classic Matt Van Schie bass line. The track has a serious groove and one of the catchiest choruses in their discography. It’s another example of their effortless songwriting and unique sound.
Hot on the heels of Slow Down released in June 2016 (another Hype Machine Number 1 on the main chart), Keep Movin’ will be followed by the lead single Wonderland, a song both the boys describe as:
“our favorite song we’ve written so far”.
Du Tonc are Matthew ‘Mighty Mouse’ Haymes and Matt Van Schie (of Van She fame). They met by chance in the infamous smokey Parisian basement that was Social Club. Their debut single Darkness shot them into the limelight and has since been featured in the Hollywood movie ‘Entourage’. They are former Hype Machine ‘ones to watch’ and have gained admirers far and wide in the likes of Mark Ronson, Flight Facilities, Tensnake, The Magician, Digitalism and Yuksek. In addition to their singles and mixtapes they’ve reworked the likes of Annie Lennox, Aaliyah and The Pixies to critical acclaim.
RIP Swirl is the latest project of 25-year old producer Luka Seifert, who normally released under his Luka alias. RIP Swirl is used for his productions that are more suited for the dancefloor. He will release a new EP, entitled Doomed. Below you can stream a cut off the EP, Parisien, which can be downloaded for free via XLR8R here.
