In support of their superb new album, ‘Patience,’ the trio of Dave Okumu (guitar, vocals),Tom Herbert (bass & synthesizer) and Leo Taylor (drums), collectively known as The Invisible, take to the road, with one of the finest live shows you’re likely to witness.

Why will this be so special? First up, because these are three of the finest musicians in London, as is evidenced by the fact that one or other of them have played with just about everyone from Adele to St Vincent, Grace Jones, Britten Sinfonia, Roots Manuva,Jamie Woon, Yoko Ono, Beck plus many others. Second up, because this is the first time they’ve toured in a number of years, in fact since before the release of their second album, ‘Rispah.’ Shortly prior to that album’s release, Dave Okumu was electrocuted live on stage while the band were performing in Lagos, Nigeria, and was lucky to escape with his life. Which feeds into the third reason…

Partly these shows will be special because, as a reaction to those events in Lagos, and the realisation that the band are “the luckiest men alive,” The Invisible have made the best album yet from a career already garlanded with critical praise. Beautiful, intelligent and above all life-affirming, ‘Patience’ contains contributions from friends and collaborators Jessie Ware, Rosie Lowe, Connan Mockasin and Sam Shepherd (Floating Points), as well as Anna Calvi, who features on their brilliant new single ‘Love Me Again’.

The tour, then, is set to become a true celebration — of friendship, music-making and life, a communal act of “joy and gratitude.” Don’t miss. Recent sessions have been on Lauren Laverne and Red Bull at The Great Escape
